  • What I'm up to: Cooler temperatures have moved back into NW Arkansas for the time being causing the fish to feed a little more actively. We have been boating 1 to 2 limits each time out along with a variety of other fish. Fall fishing is upon us, we still have multiple dates open through November. If you think spring fishing is great, give the fall a try, you may be surprised!! Good Fishing To All!

  • AGFC fishing report Beaver Lake: As of Saturday, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reports the lake's elevation at 1,117.15 feet MSL (Normal conservation pool - 1,120 MSL). JT’s Crappie Guide Service (479-640-3980) said bass fishing remains best at night. Fish dark-colored soft-plastic lures along steep chunk rock or gravel banks. Best lures have been black/blue hula grubs and black 6-inch lizards. During the day, try Carolina-rigged lizards along shaded bluff faces. Crappie fishing remains very good. Fish minnows under floats 15 to 25 feet deep along pole timber and above brush piles in 25 to 40 feet of water in the mouths of coves and along bluff walls. The best crappie lures have been yellow/white, white and black/green tube baits. White bass have been holding in mouths of coves and main lake points suspended 15 to 40 feet deep. Once a school is located, try a ½-oz. spoon or a Rat-L-Trap. Catfish have been biting well from the bank on liver, worms and stink bait. Bluegill are biting crickets 3 to 10 feet deep in the shade of docks and bluffs. Water temp has been in the upper 80's.
  • River and stream Report By Zach Hoyt:Beaver Tailwater Ken Richards at Just Fishing Guides said Table Rock Lake continues to be about a foot into the flood pool, making some areas tough to wade at Beaver. Water releases have been in the afternoon with wadable water most mornings. Gray beadhead sow bug/scuds, Zebra midges in blue dun and marabou tail midges have been picking up a lot of healthy fish. Most days the fish are holding tight to the bottom. Kings River Ken Richards at Just Fishing Guides said the river level is 2.55 feet and the flow is 43 cfs at the Grandview Bridge. This is normal for this time of year. Floating is still possible, but there will be dragging involved. The fishing has been consistent with Zoom 4-inch lizards in green pumpkin or watermelon/red. Fly fishing with smaller flies (sizes 4-10) will get you as many sunfish as you care to catch. Popping bugs, streamers and San Juan worms are the best bets for sunfish on a fly rod.
